Glunz & Jensen K & F, Inc. of Granger, Indiana supplies “punch & bend” equipment, plate loaders, press locks and related products to newspaper publishers globally. Despite grim news in the newspaper industry, the firm has maintained its viability and in fact finds its international business growing at a faster pace than its domestic trade. Still, like all firms, G&J / K&F has an overriding concern for controlling costs, managing inventory and improving efficiencies throughout its production processes.
After an in-depth analysis of their processes, growth plans and future needs, PSSI’s team of consultants worked with the entire management team at Glunz & Jensen’s Granger facility to design and implement a complete upgrade to the firm’s manufacturing, barcode, data collection, inventory and accounting systems. Beginning with a base of the Sage Pro ERP financial system, and an upgrade to their TIW manufacturing software, PSSI consultants added inventory control and shop floor data collection, integrating the entire mix into one enterprise management system that Logistics Manager and project coordinator Connie Napier hailed as “seamless.”
